House League
About our house league program:
OSS teams competes against other OSS teams and local clubs, with one practice and one game per week.
Gym times and locations are often the same each week, allowing parents to plan other activities around their child’s basketball schedule.
The House League program also offers less travel than the competitive model, with most games/practices being centrally located in Ottawa.
Our House League level, players compete in 2 year cohorts. For the 2026-27 season they are as follows:
U12 – Born 2016 or 2015 (Boys and Girls Divisions)
U14 – Born 2014 or 2013 (Boys and Girls Divisions)
U16 – Born 2012 or 2011 (Boys and Girls Divisions)
U19 – Born 2010, 2009, or 2008 (Boys and Girls Divisions)
Sort Outs
Sort outs will take place in September with the season running through until late March/early April.
Sort outs aim to balance the skill level on teams. Players are permitted to submit up to 1 “friend request” ahead of the season.
We typically field multiple teams at each age level, which allows families to submit one evening they are prefer not to not to practice and one friend request. While we do our best to accommodate these requests, they are not guaranteed. Our priority is to create balanced teams while considering scheduling and player development. Friend and scheduling requests will be collected closer to September.
