House League (Boys & Girls Divisions)

House League

About our house league program:

  • 🟧 OSS teams competes against other OSS teams and local clubs, with one practice and one game per week.
  • 🟧 Gym times and locations are often the same each week, allowing parents to plan other activities around their child’s basketball schedule.
  • 🟧 The House League program also offers less travel than the competitive model, with most games/practices being centrally located in Ottawa.
  • 🟧 Our House League level, players compete in 2 year cohorts. For the 2026-27 season they are as follows:
    • 🏀 U12 – Players born January 1, 2015December 31, 2016 (Boys & Girls Divisions)
    • 🏀 U14 – Players born January 1, 2013December 31, 2014 (Boys & Girls Divisions)
    • 🏀 U16 – Players born January 1, 2011 – December 31, 2012 (Boys & Girls Divisions)

Sort Outs

  • 🟧 Sort outs will take place in September with the season running through until late March/early April.
  • 🟧 Sort outs aim to balance the skill level on teams. Players are permitted to submit up to 1 “friend request” ahead of the season.
  • 🟧 We typically field multiple teams at each age level, which allows families to submit one evening they are prefer not to not to practice
  • 🟧 While we do our best to accommodate these requests, they are not guaranteed. Our priority is to create balanced teams while considering scheduling and player development.
