NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto Inspires Ottawa Events

In addition to Coach Dave Love’s Shooting Clinics, Ottawa will host a number of basketball events in the lead-up to the NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto.

On Saturday, January 30, from 1:30 to 3:30pm, the Bell NBA All-Star Challenge (http://capitalcourts.com/nba-all-star-ottawa/) takes place at Carleton University

On Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7, the NBA’s top global clinician, Coach Donnie Arey, will be in Ottawa to conduct a two days of at Brookfield High School.

The event is sponsored by the Quebec’s Stanstead College and the Ottawa Shooting Stars Basketball Club.

Coach Arey often serves as an NBA ambassador, travelling internationally to promote the game. He has also visited the White House twice to conduct clinics with US President Barack Obama.

He has also worked with many past and present NBA stars, including Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Vince Carter, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Carmello Anthony.

Coach Arey’s Ottawa Basketball Clinics, at Brookfield High School, take place Saturday, February 6, 1:30pm to 8:30pm, and Sunday, February 7, 9am to 5pm.

There is a fee for players to register, but coaches can attend for free.
